Samuel Farrow

US Congressman. He was admitted to the bar in 1793, practiced law and engaged in agricultural pursuits at Spartanburg, South Carolina. From 1810 to 1812, he was Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina and was elected as a Republican to the Thirteenth Congress in 1813, serving until 1815. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he resumed the practice of law and engaged in agricultural pursuits. He was member of the State House of Representatives, 1816 to 1819 and 1822 to 1823

The Miles Family Cemetery is located on Burnt Factory Road.  Thomas Pinckney Miles grandson of Thomas Miles and Sarah Farrow created this "grave yard" and deeded this land to his uncle, Landon Miles.

Mertie Sherman Miles Family, Rice, Texas

Sherman Miles was born in Fayette County, Alabama on 28 Jun 1878, son of Wilbur Fisk and Lavenia Angeline Moore Miles.  He had a twin sister named Ida.  Sherman came to Navarro County, Texas as a young man and married Viola Allen on 9 Apr 1905 in the Rice Methodist parsonage.  He was a member of the Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge, and School Board.  He was an active Democrat and was Precinct Chairman many years.  He died 7 Feb 1952 and is buried in the Rice Cemetery.

Landon Miles of Fayette County, Alabama

Landon Miles was the son of Wiley Miles and Rebecca Savanna Bobo.  He was a Confederate Veteran, who died in 1929, approaching 80 years of age. During the last years of his life he was partially paralized.  He is buried in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

George Washington Miles Family

Rev. George W. Miles is the son of James Aquilla Miles and Priscilla Wells.  He is the grandson of Thomas Miles and Sarah Farrow.

George W. Miles was born at Cross Anchor, Laurens [Spartanburg] County, S.C., January 28.1828; and died at Bristol, Tenn., September 16, 1892.  He was converted and joined the Church in his teens.  He was married to Miss Rebecca Austin December 23, 1851 [December 7, 1850]. He intended to study for the law, but after a struggle he yielded to the motions of the Holy Spirit and consented to become an itinerant minister.  He was admitted into the Conference 1855.
